Dingoes on Frazer Island are pure dingoes with no cross breeding from other dingoes or dogs. They should be left alone….

There are a few rules when camping on Fraser Island in regards to the dingoes.

DO NOT feed the Dingoes.

Dingoes that get their food from people may get aggressive and could attack.

Store all of your food, eskies, bags and rubbish out of the dingoes reach, in vehicles.

Always stay in pairs and be alert for dingoes. If attacked by dingoes you will need to fight aggressively back.

Any fish scraps should be buried at least 30 cm in the sand below the high tide mark.

Frazer Island Dingoes have around 5 pups per litter and live from 10 – 12 years. There is approx 50 dingoes on the island between the 6-10 month age bracket with a very curious nature towards people…
